It's very interesting how I wrote this poem, because at the time, I didn't even know I was doing it! It started one night when I had a dream that I continuously have. It goes like this:
I always start on the roof of an art museum (don't ask me!) I look down through a window, and I see a totally unsecured atrium. So, I enter. I come to one particular painting, which looks like a black and white type genre of a woman who's back is slightly bent and she is holding some type of crystal. This painting opens up, revealing a passage behind it. I go through this passage and on the other end, there are several types of aliens dancing around and having a good time. My eyes always wander over to the sign which clearly states: "NO HUMANS." In the back of the room, I see a door, with light flowing out from under it. I make a mad dash to the door, but I am always caught by an alien security guard before I can reach it, and then I wake up.
Over the course of me having this dream several times, it always becomes more advanced. Such as, in the atrium, there are lasers that scan DNA, and slice you if you happen to have the wrong DNA. The painting that hides the passage continas a palm print scanner to the right of it.
Anyway, one night after having this dream, I woke up, and something was compelling me to write. I did, not knowing at the time what I was writing. After I finished writing, I finally came to, and noticed the paper in front of me, with all sorts of revisions and scribbles, when I read it, its meaning was way beyond me until I actually analyzed it. Stranger still, I had used a word that I had no idea what it meant!!! This word was soliloquy1. Even under its strange circumstances, Silent Dream proves to be my writing masterpiece.
1For those of you don't know, soliloquy means "the act of talking to oneself."
